The failure of the Cosmological argumentI havenīt written anything in a while, so I decided to write this both as a mental exercise and because my watchers are probably wondering if Iīm still alive :). But it’s also something important I want to give my thoughts on.

We’ve all heard of the cosmological argument, one of, if not the, most common arguments for the existence of a god. For those who don’t know, this is how the argument goes:

1. Every finite and contingent being has a cause.
2. A causal loop cannot exist.
3. A causal chain cannot be of infinite length.
4. Therefore, a First Cause (or something that is not an effect) must exist.

The first problem lies

That Big Blue SkyI sit for many a night to contemplate my right to grasp tight
the knowledge I hold dear to me. I see people tossing their thoughts
at subjects frought with usleness or lack of reason. I thought I

Agnostic Atheist     How do you go about proving God's existence or nonexistence?  I would like to discuss it because it's usually avoided in polite conversation for good reason.  But this essay or rant or whatever is not polite conversation and will probably offend some people.

    First of all, how do we prove God's existence?  Well, from what I know, there is no hard, empirical evidence that proves God's existence.  There isn't any, none, and the Bible obviously doesn't count because it only assumes God exists; it never factually proves that God exists.  Miracles don't count either, common sense can even dictate they aren't real.  And people that say th

Too many of us think that God's grace is a shield that indemnifies us against the consequences of our sins.
God's ability to forgive is infinite, however grace is not a shield.
Grace is a bone saw.
"If your eye causes you to sin it is better to pluck it out than to continue sinning."
Grace is a spiritual amputation of a piece of your soul infected by the gangrene of iniquity.
God's ability to forgive is infinite, however is the individual's ability to receive grace likewise infinite? How many graces can a person receive before the soul-body ceases to function?

My Interpretation of the Christian Faith

What I believe may seem weird, certainly unorthodox and possibly ridiculous but I have thought long and hard about it.

Jesus
Each and every one of us is, to ourselves Jesus. What we know is the only right way to us, the idea of "perfection" can only be described fully and understood to the extent by ourselves. Therefore, we must each think of ourselves as having the perfect opinion otherwise we would not support it. In the Bible, Jesus does many things which all have interpretable meanings and there are too many to get into so I'll just leave it for now.

God
God is everybody else. In Genesis God created the world we know. Who has created the world we live in today? Everybody. If a few of us had never existed then the world would never have the exact same composition as it has today.

The Holy Spirit
Morality/Ethics is our One Spirit. Our morals is what connects us as a race and we can all understand, most often times, each others' morality. Without our morals and ethics, there is nothing which would connect us deep down in the way we feel about situations.

This is a very brief explanation of my views, if you're interested then I am a Roman Catholic.

I hope that doesn't suprise you.

With regards to Roman Catholicism... It does not surprise me. Usually when we deviate from the orthodoxy, it is with a lot of thought involved. And in a sizable way.
